The SPCA of Southwest Michigan is a non-profit organization supported by volunteers dedicated to rescuing homeless dogs, cats, puppies and kittens from Southwest Michigan pounds and adopting them into responsible homes. Since their founding in May 2002, the SPCA of Southwest Michigan has saved more than 11,000 pets – the vast majority from 10 different Animal Control facilities across Southwest and south central Michigan. In 2006, the SPCA realized it was quickly outgrowing its facilities.  Through the “Joining Hands to Save Lives” campaign, the leadership of the SPCA successfully built a new shelter on pristine farmland in Kalamazoo, Michigan....
